Baillie and Kyle’s wedding at Hidden River Ranch in Lampasas, TX was a dream come true! The weekend was a wedding I had been looking forward to for awhile (basically since the venue opened!) I went to college with Lauren, the owner of the venue, however we really didn’t know each other back then. I was roommates with her and her sister, Lisa, and Lisa and I were on the dance team in college. Long story short, when Lauren’s best friend since childhood asked me to be her wedding photographer I was ecstatic! First of all, she is beautiful on the inside and out, has great taste, and listening to her describe her wedding–I WAS ALL IN!!

Baillie and Kyle’s love story deserves to be told through a Hallmark movie! They met in January of 2014 at a coffee shop in College Station. If anyone knows the bride, its that she loves to explore quant coffee places. It was love at first sight and have been together ever since.

After three years of dating, they took their next step. Baillie flew up to Calgary to see Kyle for the weekend. She’s always wanted to go to Lake Louise, so Kyle booked a Bed & Breakfast in Banff for them to walk around and explore. When they got to Lake Louise, they picked a trail that wasn’t too long and hiked up one of the mountains. Baillie kept falling and Kyle kept chuckling.

When they finally reached the end of the trail and took a couple of pictures overlooking the snowy scenery, Kyle asked Baillie to marry him – Baillie knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Kyle and quickly said yes!! They spent the rest of the weekend just taking in everything that had happened and enjoyed being engaged.

Baillie and Kyle are perfect for one another. Both are extremely fun-loving, have a witty sense of humor and like to crack jokes, adventurous, love their families, and are super fun to be around! When I photograph couples, I wish for laughter, joy, adventure, fun, outdoor engagement sessions, and down-to-earth brides with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Baillie and Kyle to a T!
I wish I had been able to visit Banff and photograph their engagement, however their photographer did an amazing job!!

The day started out with a bridal luncheon in the bridal suite on the venue. This is also where the girls’ hair and make-up were done. The guys hung out in the groom’s suite and had a cookout outdoors and played games. Baillie was surrounded with so much love from her girls and her mother and inlaw’s to be. Baillie gifted her mom, dad, and mother-in-law a sweet personalized handkerchief that had everyone in tears. Baillie and Kyle both wrote a letter to each other as well as a special gift. I find myself always loving this part and holding back tears watching them read each other’s letter.

After the hair and make-up was finished, Baillie’s mom helped put on her dress. I loved the look of her and her mom’s face as they both looked in the mirror with excitement, joy, and how radiant Baillie looked in that dress! Shortly after, Baillie had a first look with her dad which brought tears to his eyes (and mine!). After this, the wedding coordinator and I walked Kyle outside with a blindfold, and Baillie did a “blind” first look with Kyle. They held hands, laughed, and you could see how happy she was that she was about to marry the man of her dreams (even though he couldn’t see her yet). The bridesmaids looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL, each having a different color dress and style. The groomsman looked sharp, as well as the groom, and everyone had a blast cracking jokes and acting goofy while taking pictures. Baillie and Kyle were surrounded with laughter and fun all day and I can’t imagine a more perfect wedding day for them!

The ceremony took place in Hidden River Ranch’s beautiful chapel indoors, with candles and flowers down the aisle. The ceremony was special because Baillie’s grandfather was their minister. After Baillie’s dad walked her down the aisle, you could see Kyle looking back at her with tears in his eyes. After the ceremony we took family and wedding party photos and then it was time for the bride and groom portraits!! We took them just outside the venue which was perfect as the sun was setting. I absolutely LOVE bride and groom portraits time! During these photos, Kyle had a surprise for Baillie. He took her to the gazeebo and told her that he had actually been taking dance lessons in Canada, and wanted to show her some moves before they got on the dance floor. I watched as they danced, remembering how I felt on my wedding day, full of joy, happiness, excitement, and ready to party all night!!! After the portraits, we all walked back to the reception to get the celebration started. The wedding party had amazing entrances at the top of the stairs, and made their way down. The rest of the night was full of special dances, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss, assorted glow in the dark bracelets and headbands, and ended with a GIANT circle of Aggies singing the Aggie War hymn moving side to side. Kyle and Baillie’s walked through rose pedals as they made their grand exit as husband and wife for the first time!

Baillie and Kyle, thank you SO MUCH for letting me be a part of your special day! I am super happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure called marriage. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it on your wedding day. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
